Clinical conference proves a great success

Ensuring clinical best practice every step of the way

Duradiamond Healthcare held its annual clinical conference at the Royal College of General Practitioners in London on Saturday.

Duradiamond Healthcare provides comprehensive, evidence-based occupational health (OH) and wellbeing services to organisations and their people across the UK.

We have one of the largest cadres of OH Physicians in the country and also employ c.200 other skilled and experienced clinicians including OH Advisors, OH Nurses, OH Technicians, Physiotherapists, Mental Health-trained Nurses, Counsellors, Hygienists and Physiologists.

To retain our reputation as a leader in embedded clinical governance and high quality service provision, we use a continuous improvement methodology, so our clinicians remain at the forefront of best practice. Ensuring our clinicians remain up to date and can use the continuing professional development process, is one of the ways we seek to enhance the quality of service provision to our clients and their employees.

The theme moved onwards from last year’s mental health emphasis, to encompass cancer survivorship, neurodiversity within the workplace and employment law, covering:

  • Audit and clinical governance processes
  • Legal updates
  • Cancer survivorship – to support employees through and beyond their cancer treatment
  • Neurodiversity
  • Pre-hospital care.

Led by our Director of Medical Education Dr Kathryn McKinnon, with contributions from David Whincup - Partner at Squire Patton Boggs, Dr Pauline Leonard - Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Whittington Hospital Trust, Nicola James - CEO of Lexxic, Dr Rupert Hall-Smith and our own Gary Buchanan, Dr Alasdair Emslie and Andrew Noble, the event was a great success.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Alasdair Emslie said, "We were delighted to host another very successful clinical conference at the RCGP in London for the DHC family of clinicians, supporting the employees and clients with whom we work. The learning opportunities covered further enhance our clinical skills in delivering high quality evidence-based care."

Managing Director Andrew Noble commented, "It was wonderful to welcome so many friends and colleagues from around the country with teams coming from as far as Plymouth and Inverness."

This conference, along with our comprehensive clinician education programmes, will continue to reassure our clients of our high standards of quality and customer journey.
