New report calls for greater investment in occupational health

Review of occupational health provision required

Britain’s manufacturers are urging the government to use its new review of UK occupational health provision, to ensure all companies have access to an OH service as part of a much wider overarching strategy in tackling more than simply work-related sickness absence.

The call comes following a major survey of work and health by EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation and specialist insurance broker Howden (see below).

Duradiamond Healthcare’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Alasdair Emslie FFOM FFOM (I) commented, “We are delighted to see the emphasis of the importance of occupational health in the engineering and manufacturing sectors from the EEF.”

Duradiamond Healthcare provides the full range of evidence-based, Consultant Physician-led occupational services across the UK, from occupational hygiene to health surveillance, rehabilitation, emergency first response, mental health training and physiotherapy in this and other sectors.
